Reverse Marketing-The Morons (MLM) of the Internet?

You know, occasionally I like to get off on a Dennis Miller rant session concerning marketing goods and services on Google. I have not a clue if you have ever had contact with a reverse marketer, or even know who or what this is, but I will define them in my words in this article.

A reverse marketer is someone who fills out contact forms, makes cold phone calls to prospects, and even goes so far as to parse through the Internet looking for people to join their MLM or network marketing business. You may have received a call like this before:

"Hello Mr. Hamilton. If I could show you a way to make $10,000 in the next month, would that be worth a couple of minutes of your time?"

Well, of course I say no, and they are literally shocked at my response. I tell them who I am, and what I do, and many times they have heard of me. I know for a fact that these people are not making any money at all, for the simple reason that if they were, they would not be reverse marketing to me!

I find reverse marketers very illiterate and stupid. As a matter of fact, I believe the term MLM (morons leading other morons) would fit great into the definition.

I also find it very distasteful for these jerkoffs to fill in my contact forms for SEO services. Now you would think that only people looking for qualified SEO services would be doing this, right? Well, WRONG! I had a contact just the other day from a company called GreenBackStreet. This guy had the nerve to fill in my form, and then, when I called him, he tried to get me into the business with him, since I am very good at promoting websites! I even talked with the national marketing director from that company, and went to a webinar he was hosting.

What did I find? He was touting SEO capabilities from joining their business. I looked at the results, and I became very aware of a company not long ago called LocalAdLink. Same thing, different name and prices. I politely emailed the guy, and told him to cancel my free account, and I would not promote GreenBackStreet to anyone, for any price. Hey, its just the way that I am.

If I believe some program to be bogus, I will be damned if I will risk my reputation on Google for a quick buck.

So, what is my impression of reverse marketers? I think a better term is reverse jerkoffs. That is what these morons are!
